Designation (also Spitzengewächs or Kreszenz) for a wine of excellent quality in the context of a wine address and wine rating (at least 16 out of 20 or 90 out of 100 points). However, this has no significance in terms of wine law. There are many terms with similar meanings for such wines, these are Erstwein or Grand Vin, Garagenwein, Hauptwein, Kultwein and Premiumwein. There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
