Tinta Bragao

The red grape variety originates from Portugal. Synonyms are Barreto, Barreto de Semente, Bragao and Tinto do Bragao. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2020, it comes from a presumably natural cross between Marufo x Gouveio (Godello). It is grown in the two Portuguese regions of Centro and Norte. In 2016, three hectares were designated under the name Barrete de Semente and 64 hectares under the name Tinta Bragao (Kym Anderson statistics). In 2016, 64 hectares of vines were designated (Kym Anderson statistics).
