The white grape variety (also Timpurie) is a new cross between Crimpoșie x Frumoaso de Ghioroc (Tompa Mihaly). The cross was made in Romania in 1962 by the breeder Stefan Oprea. It is used as a winepress and table grape. In 2016, 1.1 hectares of vines were reported (Kym Anderson statistics).

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
