The red grape variety (also 1452/75) is a new cross between Saperavi x Areni. The cross was made in Armenia by the breeders S. A. Pogosyan and S. S. Khachatryan. It is cultivated in the Armenian province of Ararat and also in Ukraine. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (statistics Kym Anderson).
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
