The list includes vineyards, wineries, production companies, trading firms and auction houses. In addition to alcoholic beverages (wine, beer, sparkling wine, spirits), some also produce non-alcoholic beverages such as mineral water and fruit juices, and in some cases entirely different products such as food and consumer goods.

In terms of turnover from alcoholic drinks, the British multinational Diageo, the French multinational Pernod Ricard, the US multinationals Constellation Brands, Fortune Brands and Gallo, the Australian multinational Treasury Wine Estates, and the international group Bacardi-Martini Limited are at the top of the list. However, if the ranking were based purely on the proportion of wine sales, it would look very different, as spirits account for a significantly larger share of turnover for most companies. Some companies are interlinked or share a common history. Others, meanwhile, have been dissolved in the course of mergers or takeovers, but remain of historical interest.

If I were to rate websites, you would deserve the highest rating. It is rare to come across websites that provide such a large amount of data and are still so intuitive to use. Respect for the lovingly researched and informatively prepared encyclopedia. Keep it up!
