Teufelskopf

single vineyard in the municipality of Ludwigshöhe (Nierstein area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. The east-facing vineyards with 15 to 25% slopes cover 32 hectares of vines. The soils consist of loess, limestone and sandy loam. The varieties cultivated here include Riesling, Silvaner, Pinot Gris, Johanniter, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir and Dornfelder. The Dr. Becker brothers, Lamberth and Rappenhof wineries, for example, have shares in the site.
