IGT area for white, red and rosé wines in the Italian region of Lombardy. It covers 13 hectares of vineyards in hilly and mountainous areas of the provinces of Como and Lecco. Only grape varieties authorised in the region may be used. Varietal wines must contain at least 85% of the variety in question, up to 15% may be other varieties. Different for each type of wine, a minimum alcohol content is prescribed, but no ageing period.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
