Terlaner (grape variety)

The white grape variety originates from South Tyrol(Italy). Synonyms are Biancaccia, Garganica, Garganica Bianca, Vattara, Vattara Biancazza, Vernanzina del Vicentino and Weißer Terlaner. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, it originates from a presumably natural cross between Gouais Blanc x unknown partner. However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see molecular genetics). It is an all-female grape variety. A direct descendant is Lagarino Bianco. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
