Subzone (also Terlano) for white wines within the Alto Adige DOC area in the Italian wine-growing region of Alto Adige (in the dual region of Trentino-Alto Adige). The zone includes hilly vineyards on both sides of the Adige River in Andriano (Andriano), Appiano (Appiano), San Genesio Atesino (San Genesio Atesino), Caldaro (Caldaro), Meltina (Meltina), Nalles (Nalles), Terlano (Terlano) and Tesimo (Tesimo). The historical area includes Andriano, Nalles and Terlano. The name of the subzone and additionally "Classico" or "Classic" or "Classic area of origin" for wines from the historical area can be stated on the label. If the grapes come from classified vineyards, Vigna can be indicated followed by the name of the vineyard.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
