The winery is located in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia (metropolitan city of Catania) in the Italian region of Sicily. The winery was founded in 2007 by Silvia Maestrelli, who comes from a Florentine business family. The cellar with a 17th century palmento (wine press) has been renovated. Jacopo Maniaci is responsible as managing director, Benedetto Alessandro as oenologist. In 2022, the Villa Casa Palmento was put into operation with six double rooms and a cantina, where wine tours and wine tastings are also offered. The vineyards cover seven hectares of vines; grapes are also supplied by small winegrowers.

They are planted with the red wine varieties Nero d'Avola, Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, as well as with the white wine varieties Carricante, Catarratto Bianco and Minella Bianca. Some of the vines are very old and some of them have been planted with Albarello. The vineyards are cultivated 100% according to certified organic viticulture guidelines. The product range includes various DOC wines Etna and Sicilia. The premium wines of the house include DOC Etna Bianco "A'Puddara" (100% Carricante, fermentation and ageing for 12 months in 35-hl barrels, 10 months on the fine le es, 12 months in bottle) and DOC Etna Rosso "Il Musmeci" (100% Nerello Mascalese, manual selection from 100-year-old vines, ageing for 12 months in tonneau, 12 months in 35-hl barrels, 12 months in bottle). Around 60,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. The winery is a member of the Sosti di Ulisse and Strada del Vino dell'Etna associations.
