Tennessee

The state in the southeast of the USA with the capital Nashville is located between the Appalachian Mountains and the Mississippi. A settlement by white immigrants already took place in the 17th century, who at that time tried to produce wine and fought with the Foxton, the peculiarity of the species Vitis labrusca. Mississippi Delta is the only AVA classified, which is shared with the states of Mississippi and Louisiana. Many hybrids are cultivated, including the historic Catawba. European varieties are represented only in small quantities. There are 25 production farms, many of which are located in the Smokey Mountains area. The best known are Beachaven Vineyards & Winery, Chateau Ross Vineyard & Winery, Countryside Vineyards & Winery, Lauderdale Cellars, Monteagle Wine Cellars, Red Barn Winery & Vineyard, Smokey Mountain Winery, Tennessee Mountain View Winery, Tennessee Valley Winery and Tri-Star Vineyards.
