The white grape variety (also Tempranillo Royo, Tinta de Toro Gris) originates from Spain. It is a mutation of the red Tempranillo variety with reddish berries. It was discovered in 2006 in the Toro region (Castile-León). Another mutation is Tempranillo Blanco. No stock was identified in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
