The winery is located in the municipality of Poysdorf in the north of the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Weinviertel. The origins of the family business date back to 1670. Bottling in bouteilles began as early as 1942. Today the winery is run by Helmut and Monika Taubenschuss, actively supported by their sons Markus and Thomas. The vineyards cover 15 hectares in the Hermannschachern, Maxendorf, Steinbergen, Tenn and Weißer Berg vineyards. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, Weißburgunder, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Traminer, Grüner Sylvaner and Riesling. Quality criteria are rigorous yield restriction and extremely gentle processing of the grapes with the aim of producing wines with character and typical of the region. Particular care is taken to cultivate the leading variety Grüner Veltliner. The premium wines include several Weinviertel DAC (Grüner Veltliner) with different vineyard designations, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc. Grape juice and bottle-fermented vintner's sparkling wines are also produced. The bottle label is adorned with a white dove. Wine cultural events such as jazz and Dixieland evenings, vernissages and photo galleries are also organised in the house. The winery is a member of the Association of Premium Wine Estates Weinviertel.
