The white grape variety (breeding no. Würzburg B 48-21-8) is a new breeding between Müller-Thurgau x Siegerrebe. The crossing took place in 1948 by the breeder Dr. Hans Breider (1908-2000) at the Bavarian State Institute for Viticulture and Horticulture in Würzburg (Germany). With the same parents, the three new varieties Muscabona, Ortega, and Thekla were also created. In 2016, no stocks were reported (Statistics Kym Anderson).
