In 1975 the private producers' association "Consorzio Talento" was founded with the aim of cultivating the Metodo classico, the classic method of producing a sparkling wine by means of bottle fermentation
. Today, the Consorzio Talento is made up of almost 50 producers from the regions of Lombardy, Trentino and Veneto, for example. The protected designation Talento is used instead of Spumante
, because this general designation has a bad image due to many mass products of simpler quality.
