In 1975 the private producers' association "Consorzio Talento" was founded with the aim of cultivating the Metodo classico, the classic method of producing a sparkling wine by means of bottle fermentation. Today, the Consorzio Talento is made up of almost 50 producers from the regions of Lombardy, Trentino and Veneto, for example. The protected designation Talento is used instead of Spumante, because this general designation has a bad image due to many mass products of simpler quality.
