The "Sektkellerei Szigeti" is located in the municipality of Gols in the Burgenland wine-growing region of Neusiedlersee. It was founded in 1991. The business is run by Peter Szigeti. The grapes are supplied by contract winegrowers who cultivate around 100 hectares of vineyards, 90% of which are from the Seewinkel region. The main varieties are Grüner Veltliner and Welschriesling with about one third of the production. Others are the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Muskat-Ottonel, as well as the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and Pinot Noir. The product range includes 20 different sparkling wine and frizzante specialities made from local grapes, which are produced as single varieties and as cuvées. These are produced exclusively according to the classic "Méthode traditionnelle"(bottle fermentation), with great emphasis on varietal typicity. Two organic sparkling wines are produced according to the certified guidelines of the Bio Austria association as well as "Szigeti Beer".
