The family winery "Szepsi Borászati Magánvállalkozás" is located in the village of Mád in the Tokaj-Hegyalja region of Hungary. It was founded in 1977 by István Szepsy (1922-2018), who is considered one of the best and most innovative winemakers of the Tokaj region. There is possibly a relationship to Máte Szepsi-Laczkó, the supposed "inventor" of Aszú. The vineyards cover ten hectares, 95% of which are planted with Furmint and Hárslevelű varieties, approximately half each, as well as a small amount of Muscat Lunel (Muscat Blanc). Only the estate's own grapes are used. The winery is a member of the association "Tokaj Renaissance" and produces all typical Tokaj brands.
