Sysak

The red grape variety originates from Azerbaijan. Synonyms are Sady, Sagi, Sagy, Saqi, Sisack, Sisag, Sisack, Sisakh, Sisaq, Sisiag, Sysax, Susak, Sysack, Sysag, Syssag, Syssakh and Zizak. It should not be confused with the variety Zizak from Montenegro because of the similar name. The parentage is unknown. It is an all-female grape variety. The versatile variety is used for the production of grape juice, dessert wine, sparkling wine and brandy. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
