The white grape variety (also ES 6-1-43) is a complex interspecific new breeding between Edelweiss x Elmer Swenson 442 (Minnesota 78 x Rubilande). It contains genes from Vitis aestivalis, Vitis cinerea, Vitis labrusca, Vitis lincecumii, Vitis riparia, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera. The crossing of the hybrid took place in the early 1960s at the University of Minnesota by the grape breeder Elmer Swenson (1913-2004).
The varietal protection was granted in 1994. The late ripening vine is moderately susceptible to both powdery mildew and anthracnose, but resistant to frost down to minus 35 °Celsius. It produces floral white wines with a slight Foxton with good potential for ice wines. The variety is also used as a table grape. It is grown in the US states of Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and Wisconsin, as well as in Canada (2 ha) (Kym Anderson).

If I were to rate websites, you would deserve the highest rating. It is rare to come across websites that provide such a large amount of data and are still so intuitive to use. Respect for the lovingly researched and informatively prepared encyclopedia. Keep it up!
