The originally protected PDO area is located in the Kvemo Imereti part of the Imeretia region in Georgia. It extends 220 metres above sea level along the left bank of the Kvirila River around the municipalities of Pirveli Sviri, Meore Sviri and Rodinauli. The dry, straw-yellow white wine is blended from the Tsolikouri, Tsitska and Krakhuna varieties. Between 4 and 6% Chacha ( grapemarc spirit) is added to the grape must. It is characterised by a fruity aroma typical of the terroir.
For me, Lexicon from wein.plus is the most comprehensive and best source of information about wine currently available.
