Sustainable Wine South Africa

An association (abbreviation SWSA) founded in 2010 by four institutions in connection with the production of wine in South Africa. The Wine and Spirit Board (WSB) is the state control body for the analytical and organoleptic testing of quality wines with a guarantee of origin. Integrated Production of Wine (IPW) is a catalogue of guidelines drawn up in 1998 regarding KIP (Controlled Integrated Production) in viticulture.

Biodiversity & Wine Initiative

The Biodiversity & Wine Initiative (BWI) is a South African initiative based on the globally active nature conservation organisation World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) with the aim of preventing further loss of habitats and preserving biodiversity (variety of species). Wines of South Africa (WoSA) is an association of around 500 South African wine producers who export their products. The aim of the SWSA is the sustainable, environmentally friendly production of wines.
