Suppezza

The red grape variety originates from Italy. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2005, there is a close relationship to the Falanghina Flegrea variety. However, the parentage is unknown. The medium ripening vine is susceptible to Botrytis. It is one of the numerous autochthonous varieties in the Campania region, where it is mainly cultivated on the Sorrento peninsula. The wines are mainly used as blends in the DOC wines Penisola Sorrentina. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
