Supérieur

French term for an AOC wine that has a higher alcohol content (usually 0.5% more by volume). However, the term is optional and not always unambiguous. It is also used in regional appellation designations; for example, Beaujolais Supérieur, Bordeaux Supérieur and Graves Supérieures.
