The red grape variety is an interspecific new variety between Campbell Early x Muscat d'Hamburg. It contains genes from Vitis labrusca and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in Japan at the Okayama Agricultural Experimental Station by breeder T. Osumi. It is used as a wine press and table grape. In 2010 no stocks were reported (Statistics Kym Anderson).
