The red grape variety is an interspecific new breeding between Campbell Early x Muscat d'Hamburg. It contains genes from Vitis labrusca and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in Japan at the Okayama Agricultural Experiment Station by the breeder T. Osumi. It is used as wine grape and table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
