Sunny slope

Single location in the municipality of Ingelheim (Bingen area) in the German Rheinhessen growing region. The south-west-facing vineyards with 5 to 10% slope inclination comprise 88 hectares of vineyards. The soil consists of loess, limestone and sandy loam. They have a good water storage capacity. The varieties cultivated here are Riesling,Pinot Blanc, PinotGris, Gewürztraminer, PinotNoir, Blauer Portugieser and Frühburgunder. The vineyards Gräff & Schmitt, J. Mett and Schloss Westerhaus, for example, have shares in the vineyard. There are other individual sites called Sonnenhang in the Rhine-Hessian communities of Eimsheim, Guntersblum and Schornsheim.
