The white grape variety is a new variety between Cardinal x unknown seedless variety. Synonyms are Menidee Seedless, Sugra One, Superior and Superior Seedless. Under certain conditions, such as high must weight, it is marketed under the brand name Superior Seedless. The cross was made in California by the breeder John M. Garabedian. It is mainly used as table grape, but also for the production of wine. In 2000, the variety occupied 2,835 hectares of vineyards in Argentina. In 2016, however, no more stocks were reported here; in Peru, there were nine hectares. There is also an early-maturing mutation called Sugrafive (Kym Anderson).
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
