Suffolk Red

The white grape variety (also New York 21-572, NY 21-572, Suffolk Red Seedless) is an interspecific new variety between Fredonia x Kishmish Chernyi (dark-coloured mutation of Sultana). It contains genes from Vitis labrusca and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in 1935 at the Vine Breeding Institute of Cornell University in Geneva, New York, by the breeder A. B. Stout. The variety was a crossing partner of the new variety Reliance (1). The seedless vine with reddish berries is used as table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
