Süßschwarz

The red grape variety probably originates from Germany. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2016, it originates from a presumably natural cross between Savagnin (Traminer) x unknown partner. It was a parent of the varieties Affenthaler, Schwarzer Heunisch and Tauberschwarz through presumably natural crosses. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson). Süßschwarz is also a synonym for the varieties Béclan, Blauer Silvaner and Pinot Noir.
