Designation for fruit subsequently formed on stingers (secondary shoots, side shoots). Certain grape varieties such as Muscat and Pinot tend to produce a subsequent fruit. The development is often only six to eight weeks after the main fruit. As this deprives them of nutrients, or the unripe grapes have a negative effect on the quality. In most cases the stingers are removed. See also under shoots.
