The winery is located in the municipality of Deutschkreutz in the Austrian wine-growing region of Mittelburgenland. The business was established after the Second World War by Josef and Theresia Strehn with the three pillars of arable farming, livestock farming and viticulture. In the 1960s, they began to concentrate on viticulture. Since 1993, the estate has been run by Monika Strehn. The quality criteria are careful vineyard work, late harvesting, low yields per hectare and careful processing in the cellar. The Australian Flying Winemaker Michael Gadd contributed a great deal of expertise. Young winemaker Patrick J. W. Pfneisl is responsible for vinification (after gaining practical experience as a vintage winemaker at top Californian and Australian wineries).
