The "Stellenzicht Vineyards" wine estate is located on the Helderberg in the South African wine-growing district of Stellenbosch. The name means "view of Stellenbosch". It was founded in 1692 and was once part of the Rustenberg wine estate. Since 1981 it has been owned by the German ex-banker Hans-Joachim Schreiber (Lusan Holding), as has its sister estate Neethlingshof Estate since 1985. The winegrowing pioneer Günter Brözel played a key role in the reconstruction. Today, Guy Webber is the cellar master in charge.
It is somewhat cooler here than in the rest of the Stellenbosch region, so that only a small amount of artificial irrigation is required. The estate covers a total of 230 hectares on the slopes of the Helderberg between the town of Stellenbosch and the Atlantic Ocean. The vineyards cover 128 hectares, of which around 80 are planted. The varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Malbec (Cot), Merlot, Pinotage, Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Shiraz (Syrah) are cultivated (Riesling no longer).
