The winery is located in the municipality of Brauneberg (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region of Mosel. The family business has been run by Edith and Stefan Steinmetz since 1999. The vineyards cover 6.5 hectares, 80% of which are on very steep slopes in the single vineyard sites of Geierslay (Wintrich), Grafschafter Sonnenberg (Veldenz), Herrenberg and Paulinsberg (Kesten), Himmelreich (Graach), Juffer (Brauneberg), and Sonnenlay (Mülheim). They are 70% planted with Riesling, with 90% of the vines being more than 30 years old and most of them even 50 to 70 years old, ungrafted. Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Merlot are cultivated on 30% of the area.
