Steinmassl

Vineyard or site (also Steinmassel) in the wine town of Langenlois in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Kamptal. The name is derived from "Steinmeizel", which used to be a term for a quarry. The eastern part is also called "Steinhaus", but is often referred to as an independent vineyard. The south-southeast facing vineyards in the form of a cauldron have mica slate and gneiss primary rock soils. The white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner and Riesling are cultivated here. The wineries Bründlmayer Willi, Grillmaier, Loimer Fred, Rabl Rudolf, Sax Rudolf and Summerer, for example, have shares in the vineyard.
