On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the reign of Duke Christian of Sachsen-Weißenfels, an extraordinary monument was erected in 1722 in a vineyard near the village of Großjena (Saxony-Anhalt). The client was the court jeweller J. C. Steinauer from Naumburg. The "Steinerne Bilderbuch" or "Steinerne Album" is a 200-metre-long relief of 12 pictures, which was hewn out of a standing rock step of the middle Buntsandstein. It shows scenes from the Old Testament of the Bible, which show the work in the vineyard, the enjoyment of wine and its consequences and of course pay homage to the Duke. The figure-decorated balustrade along the upper edge of the terrace was reconstructed using old photographs and some existing remains.
