Stadler Johannes

The winery is located in the community of Falkenstein in the northeast of the Lower Austrian wine growing region Weinviertel. The family business has been based here since 1726 and is now run by Johannes and Maria Stadler. A Heuriger is attached. The vineyards comprise 36 hectares of vineyards in the areas Ebersleithen, Ekartsberg, Kirchberg, Rabenstein, Rosenberg, Sandl and Sonnleiten. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Blanc, Welschriesling, Riesling, Rivaner, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Blauer Portugieser, St. Laurent, Blauburger, Merlot and Blauburgunder

The cultivation is carried out in a near-natural, environmentally friendly manner. This includes greening, short pruning and consistent thinning out of the grapes. The musts are fermented at a controlled temperature, after which the white wines are stored in steel tanks while the red wines mature in large wooden barrels until the optimal filling date. The premium wines include various Grüner Veltliner Weinviertel DAC and Weinviertel DAC Reserve. Various noble brandies (marc, tankards, wine, fruit) are also produced. About 150,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. The winery is a member of the Falkensteiner Berggericht community.
