St. Klausen

Single location in the municipality of Ramsthal (Maindreieck area) in the German wine growing region of Franken. The vineyards, which are oriented to the south-east and south, as well as from south-west to west, in part in the shape of a cauldron with a slope gradient of 25 to 70%, cover 34 hectares of vineyard area. The soils, which in places are shallow and rich in skeleton, consist of shell limestone. The varieties cultivated here include Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus, Kerner, Gewürztraminer and Schwarzriesling. In 2001, the "Weinerlebniswege St. Klausen" (Wine Experience Trails St. Klausen) were opened, where three routes offer interesting facts about the connections between wine, culture and the diverse nature. The Baldauf and Keller Adolf wineries, for example, have a share in the location.
