The winery is located in the municipality of Burrweiler (Südliche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz, in the middle of the "Haardtrand - Pfälzer Wald" nature reserve on a foothill of the "Teufelsberg". It was originally founded as a "hermitage" to supply pilgrims travelling to the nearby and namesake St. Anna's Chapel, a well-known pilgrimage site. At 355 metres above sea level, it is the highest winery in the Palatinate. The restaurant "St. Annagut" is attached. The winery was taken over by the Lergenmüller family (municipality of Hainfeld) in 1998. After studying wine economics in Geisenheim and oenological internships in France and South Africa, it is run by Victoria Lergenmüller. She is currently studying in Bordeaux with a planned Master MBA in wine and spirits.

In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
