Spoleto

DOC area for white wines in the Italian region of Umbria. The zone includes the entire municipality of Montefalco, as well as parts of Campello sul Clitunno, Castel Ritaldi, Foligno, Spoleto and Trevi in the province of Perugia. The Bianco is made from Trebbiano Spoletino (50%) and other authorised varieties. The Trebbiano Spoletino must be made of at least 85% of this variety. There are also the varieties Superiore, Passito and Spumante. The latter is available as Metodo italiano (tank fermentation) or as quality sparkling wine Metodo classico (bottle fermentation).
