Compared to wine glasses, drinking glasses for spirits generally have a significantly smaller volume due to the lower pouring quantities. As with wines, the shape of these glasses is designed to bring out the flavours particularly well. There are special shapes for brandy, cognac, grappa, schnapps and whisky. A simple shape is the Stamperl, which is commonly used in Austria and Bavaria (Germany).

For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
