single vineyard in the municipality of Bad Dürkheim (Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz. It is one of the oldest vineyards in the Mittelhaardt region. According to nearby finds from Roman times, it is assumed that the name derives from "Specula" (waiting place, watchtower) because a Roman lookout tower may once have stood here. The south to south-east facing vineyards with a slope of 5 to 15% cover 14 hectares of vineyards on clay soils mixed with lime. Riesling is the main variety cultivated here. The Castel Peter, Darting Helmut, Fitz-Ritter, Gebrüder Bart, Gut Zumstein, Karst Ernst, Schaefer Karl, Schmitt Egon and Wegner Joachim wineries, for example, have shares in the site.
