Spiegel (Grand Cru Elsass)

One of the vineyards classified as Grand Cru in Alsace (Haut-Rhin) within the Alsace Grand Cru appellation. It was mentioned in documents as early as 1504. The vineyards cover 18 hectares of vines at 260 to 315 metres above sea level on stony sandstone-marl soil in the two communes of Bergholtz and Guebwiller. They are planted with the Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Muscat Blanc varieties. Well-known producers are Dirler-Cadé, Domaine Loberger, Eugène Meyer, Domaines Schlumberger and Wolfberger.
