Positive designation (vulgar Latin for "pleasantly pungent" or colloquially "delightful") in the context of a wine address, but to be understood in the context of the description. This can be expressed, for example, by "the wine is characterised by piquant acidity " or quite the opposite "piquant sweetness" or "piquant tannins". Related terms of piquant are rezent and würzig.
The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
