One of the Alsace (Haut-Rhin) sites classified as Grand Cru within the Alsace Grand Cru appellation. The south-east facing vineyards, with a slope of 10 to 25%, cover 33 hectares of vineyards at an altitude of 220 to 270 metres above sea level in the commune of Beblenheim. The stony, calcareous clay soils with a high clay content have a good water retention capacity. They are ideally suited for the varieties Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer and Riesling. Well-known producers are Frédéric Berger, Domaine Bott-Geyl, Jean-Paul Hartweg and CV Ribeauvillé.
