The winery is located in the municipality of Mörbisch (Ruster Straße 1) in the DAC area of Leithaberg in Burgenland (Austria). A café-restaurant is attached. The winery is run by Franz Sommer. The vineyards cover ten hectares in the Altenberg and Goldberg vineyards. They are 55% planted with the white wine varieties Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Grüner Veltliner, Gewürztraminer and Riesling, and 45% with the red wine varieties Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The fruity white wines are generally fermented cool and matured in stainless steel. The red wines are classically fermented in large wooden barrels and then aged in new barriques. The flagship is the red wine cuvée "Von Altenberg" (Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zweigelt), vinified from strictly selected grapes and aged for at least 18 months in barriques. Other premium wines are the cuvée "Caró" (Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon), Pinot Noir and Blaufränkisch. The winery is a member of the Mörbischer Wein association, which produces the "Mörbischer Opernballwein" every year.
