Solomon Joseph

The winery is located in the municipality of Falkenstein in the north-east of the Lower Austrian wine growing region Weinviertel. The family has been resident here since 1709. Heinrich Salomon was one of the first winegrowers on the Brünner Strasse who worked with strict yield restrictions as early as the late 1970s. Natural viticulture is practised with greening, short pruning and consistent thinning out. The vineyards with six hectares of vines are located in the following areas: Ackerweingarten, Eckartsberg, Kirchberg, Pfarrweingarten, Rabenstein, Rosenberg, Setzgarten and Sonnleiten. Only the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Grüner Sylvaner, Chardonnay, Welschriesling, Riesling, Neuburger and Muskat-Ottonel are cultivated. Great attention is paid to the typicality of the vineyards, vintage and varieties. Among the premium wines are for example Riesling Sonnleiten, Weinviertel DAC Sonnleiten Grüner Veltliner and Grüner Sylvaner Pfarrweingarten. The winery is a member of the winegrowers' association Premium-Weingüter Weinviertel and the Markengemeinschaft Falkensteiner Berggericht.
