The use of terms that refer to a farm or winery may be regulated by the EU member states themselves. In Austria, the following guideline applies to the use of the terms winery and winegrower on labels: The possibility of use is given if wine is produced in a company-owned winery from grapes from the company's own cultivated land, including leased land.
