Small-leaved

Name for a disease symptom on the vine. It manifests itself as a reduction of the normal leaf blade as a result of disturbances of the growing conditions as well as virus infections. The symptom occurs in various vine diseases such as coulure and due to immission effects caused by pollutants (disturbing factors from the environment). This leads to changes in plant cells, tissues or whole plants. See also under vine enemies.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
