Common name in Hungary for a dark rosé produced from red wine grapes with a short maceration period (white wine grapes were also used in the past). The name is derived from the iridescent colour and etymologically corresponds to the German Schillerwein (which, however, uses white and red wine grapes). See a complete list of all wine types under winemaking.
In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
