Such a wine conveys a very smooth, finely gliding and even overall impression. The tannins are very finely structured, delicately integrated and practically non-astringent. The wine glides over the palate without resistance and shows a clear, polished surface effect without any dampening heaviness. In contrast to velvety, which is softer, denser and slightly enveloping, silky appears lighter, smoother and more gliding.
