The winery is located in the municipality of Leinsweiler (Südliche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz. Originally, it was a mixed agricultural enterprise with about 2.5 hectares of vineyards. The wine was sold in barrels to the local cooperative until 1975, when bottling was introduced. The Siegrist family has been growing grapes for many generations. In the meantime, a new generation of winegrowers has joined the business with daughter Kerstin (Dipl. Ing. Oenology) and son-in-law Bruno Schimpf (cellar master). The vineyards cover 14.5 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Sonnenberg (Leinsweiler) and Mütterle (Wollmesheim), as well as in the two municipalities of Eschbach and Ilbesheim. They are 60% planted with the white wine varieties Riesling (25%), Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Silvaner and Pinot Gris, and 40% with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
